A three-day tube strike will go ahead after talks between London Underground and the RMT union collapsed.

The strike will span 72 hours starting at 9pm tomorrow.

Friday’s talks over the closure of ticket offices and the loss of 960 jobs failed to bring about a resolution.

Both sides had said they were close to a deal but RMT says talks collapsed when London Underground demanded the whole dispute be called off, not just the strike.

London Underground’s chief operating officer says the union is “intent on inflicting” more disruption on London commuters.

No further talks have been scheduled until tomorrow evening.
