A blaze broke out in Greenhithe last night (May 1).
Three fire engines, police and the ambulance service rushed to the flaming two-storey building in The Avenue at around 9.30pm.
The blaze was discovered in the basement by fire crews in breathing apparatus – they used jets and a special fan to ventilate.
It took around an hour to deal with the incident and the firemen left at 10.40pm.
