World’s Worst Serial Killers
The Woodville on Wednesday (April 30)

Retired murder squad detective Trevor Marriott delves into the stories of some of the most terrifying killers with the help of his unique insights and real crime scene photographs, as well as looking at the errors and bad judgement calls made by the law which allowed them to keep killing. It’s not for the squeamish.

The Kast Off Kinks
The Beaverwood Club, Chislehurst on Thursday (May 1)

These guys are not your average tribute. For starters, they’ve been in the Kinks. Jim Dalton (1978 to 1996), Ian Gibbons (1979 to 1989 and 1992 to 1996) and Mick Avory (1964 to 1984) join singer Dave Clarke. Ruby Wax
Orchard Theatre, Dartford, on Sunday, May 4.

The US-born comedian, actor and writer who started at the Royal Shakespeare Company and went on to make her own TV programmes and script edit Absolutely Fabulous has become a mental health campaigner and gained a Masters from Oxford University in recent years. Her tour, Sane New World, is based on her acclaimed book and helps us understand why we sabotage our sanity with our own thinking. It’s not strictly comedy, but we’re sure you’ll be entertained. The historic National Trust property just got even more exciting for youngsters with a new play area. Next to the Discovery Den, at the north end of the garden, kids can let their imaginations run wild with natural games and activities.

Open daily 10.30am to 5pm (the house opens 11am and last entry is 4.30pm).

The Goblin King’s Annual Masquerade Ball

Now in its fourth year, the grim faerie tale world of music, performance, hidden experience, interactive creatures, puppetry and art is heading for south east London.

It’s all pretty magical and weird – ‘an experiential party exploring the darker side of fantasy’. Costumes or formal attire with mask recommended – imaginative and elaborate encouraged. Transport to and from North Greenwich station will be provided all evening.
