British Transport Police (BTP) is appealing for information after a 22-year-old man was assaulted at Crayford railway station on March 24.

Today, officers have released descriptions of two men they believe might have crucial information about the incident.

PC Michael Willoughby, the investigating officer, said: “The victim arrived at the station on his own at about 4pm.

"As he walked onto the platform two men approached him and began arguing with him. He tried to get away from them via the station footbridge but the men ran after him, with one crossing the live train tacks to get to the victim.

"A sustained physical assault then took place which left the victim requiring hospital treatment.”

Officers have been pursuing several lines of enquiry, including analysing CCTV footage from the station.

PC Willoughby added: “The first suspect is described as a white man, over 25-years-old, slim build, 6ft tall, with short dark hair and wearing a black jacket over a light grey tracksuit and black footwear.”

“The second suspect is described as a white man, 19 or 20 years-old, slim build, 5ft 4in tall, with short black hair and wearing a dark jacket.”
