A Hollister employee from Eltham has been jailed after stealing more than £60,000 from the designer Bluewater store.

Erika Martins, of Crown Woods Way, was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court last week to 10 months in prison after admitting theft by an employee and acquiring criminal property.

The 21-year-old swiped the cash from the store in Greenhithe between January and November 2012.

Martins was jailed on April 16.

So that means what 5 months banged up? Not bad for £60,000!

I laugh. Only in Britain could you get such lenient sentences. You couldn't make it up.

Sentenced to 10 months, so wouldn't that make it out in 5 months, as per the first comment?

By the way, assume £60k is the store's retail price - so assume any value would be significantly less?

Totally agree. It's one of the reasons that this country has gone down the pan. People know that they can break the law and get away virtually unpunished. I'm well in favour of the sorts of punishments handed out in some of the middle eastern countries.
