A man was treated for smoke inhalation following a fire in an empty Gravesend flat.

Three crews were called to York Road in Gravesend at around 1.38am last night to reports of a person trapped inside a burning flat.

When firefighters entered the property they found it to be empty but smoke had reached three neighbouring flats leaving one person suffering from smoke inhalation.

One flat was completely destroyed while three suffered serious smoke damage.
