A 17th century National Trust house in Gravesend which belonged to a world-class architect is now opening its doors once again.

Owletts was home to Sir Herbert Baker who built government offices in New Delhi and rebuilt part of the Bank of England.

This 17th century house in The Street, Cobham, had a huge influence on his working style

His descendants still live there and are looking forward to showing off the house which reopened last Sunday (April 6).

Great grand-daughter Camilla Baker, who currently lives at the home, said: "Since taking on the tenancy in 2012, we have been clearing the garden and have pruned the nut trees.

"It is a good place to see rabbits too, so perfect for an Easter visit and we have a new puppy who will be bounding with energy.

"Come and see our progress and the changes of season in the garden, any Sunday until the end of September."

Owletts reopened to the public last year after a major refurbishment and received nearly double the visitors they were projected to receive.
