A Bromley Mencap member is having a garden makeover thanks to staff at a nearby home improvement store.

Andrew Riches, as well as wife Anie and two children, will see a new “sensory garden” put in place thanks to staff at Homebase in nearby Catford.

Mr Riches, of Chatterton Road, said he is looking forward to the work, which will “massively improve” his back yard into somewhere nice to relax.

Gardening expert Alan Titchmarsh, who used to present popular garden makeover show ‘Ground Force’, commented on the project.

He told News Shopper: “It’s proof that a garden really can transform lives!”

Mr Riches added work is set to begin soon - make sure you look out for the full story in the News Shopper, with before and after photos.

News Shopper:
