An escaped paranoid schizophrenic who knifed a charity worker outside a Tube station was found on a Lewisham bus this morning (March 27).
Mark Ricketts fled the Springfield Hospital mental facility in Tooting on Saturday, sparking a police appeal and warnings he should not be approached.
The 47-year-old was jailed for attempted murder back in 1994 after stabbing a bingo hall doorman 20 times with a bread knife.
His victim, Mark Kemp, is said to have only survived because the blade snapped.
The Met Police confirmed that Ricketts was found on a bus in Lewisham early this morning and is now being returned to hospital.
It is the second time he has fled. He first escaped Springfield in 2004 while on a day visit from Broadmoor.
