A man suffered a fractured eye socket after he was knocked to the floor after he was punched in an unprovocked attack.

Kent Police officers are investigating two reported assaults which took place at The Clipper pub in Dartford town centre and a CCTV image of a man they are looking to identify has been released.

It was reported that at around 12.20am on Sunday, February 9, the suspect went up to a man sitting at a table in High Street pub and punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground.

When the victim's friend, a 43-year-old from Aylesford, tried to step in between them, the attacker punched him in the face too before he was ejected by door staff.

It is believed the assault followed an altercation on the dance floor between the attacker and his friends and some friends of the victims.

The first victim, aged 33 and from Swanscombe, suffered a fractured eye socket and will require surgery to treat vision problems he has suffered as a result.

His friend sustained a laceration to the face.

The suspect is described as a white man in his early 20s. He is believed to be around 5ft 8ins tall and wore a dark blue polo-style T-shirt and dark trousers.

Investigating officer, DC Sasha Monck, said: "This was an unprovoked and violent assault on two men, one of whom suffered serious facial injuries and is experiencing ongoing issues as a result.

"This sort of behaviour will not be tolerated by Kent Police.

"I believe the man pictured may have information that could help with my investigation and I'd urge him or anybody who knows him to contact me."
