Apprentices from across Lewisham have been awarded for their outstanding work at a ceremony.

Catford Broadway Theatre was the venue where eight of the best apprentices, mentors, managers and teams were given prizes.

Top of the pile was Aaron Barratt who was named Apprentice of the Year for going above and beyond his day-to-day work at of construction company Breyer Group.

Organisations which took part in the Lewisham Council scheme included Lewisham Homes, Phoenix Community Housing, Widehorizons and the Horniman.

Mayor of Lewisham Sir Steve Bullock told them: "We all know that young people in Lewisham can achieve great things and you are all proof of that.

"Your hard work has been rewarded with some excellent results and we know this is in no small part due to the help and support that you have received from your friends, families, managers, mentors and trainers."

Certificates of achievement were also presented to over 40 apprentices.
