A Dartford college ran a workshop on how to build smartphone apps for members of the public at Bluewater.

The event, managed by Year 9 and 10 pupils, demonstrated how apps can be created for devices such as Androids and iPhones.

Leigh UTC College, based in Green Street Green Road, focuses on technical skills for teenagers aged 14 to 19.

Principal Steve Leahey said: "The Leigh UTC will take IT education to a new level where its students will be able to programme, code, build networks and implement cyber securities to live systems.

"We intend to run more similar events in collaboration with our business partners over the coming months."
