Members of a Chislehurst choir are performing in a special Sport Relief concert this month.

The town’s Popchoir group is set to sing at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to mark its reopening on Sunday March 23.

Pop hits from Adele, Coldplay and Jessie J are planned for the show, which will entertain participants as they take part in the first ever Sport Relief Games there.

Chislehurst’s singers are joining other London branches of Popchoir on the main stage – and founder and director Helen Hampton said everyone is really excited to play a part in the event.

She said: “We’re delighted that Comic Relief has asked us to perform.

“We’re all excited to be singing at such an iconic venue. We’ll be making sure we sing some of our most upbeat and uplifting songs to keep the runners and motivated and help them achieve their goals.

“We’re looking forward to a fantastic day.”

The showcase comes before a busy summer of appearances for Popchoir, with venues such as Shepherd’s Bush Empire and Croydon’s Fairfield Halls booked in.
