X Factor star Sam Bailey's mum says 'Sam is a trooper' and will deal well with third pregnancy

News Shopper: Sam Bailey. Sam Bailey.

Bexley's X Factor winner Sam Bailey has admitted she is expecting a third child - and discovered she was pregnant while in a supermarket toilet.

Sam, 36, already a mother-of-two, is no stranger to dealing with the pressures of pregnancy and her singing career.

According to her mum Jackie Bailey, 62, who lives in Blackfen, Sam went into labour with her daughter Brook, eight, while she was on stage and she still finished the show to please the audience.

Mrs Bailey told News Shopper: "Sam is a trooper.

"She was on stage the night she went into labour with Brook and she was two months premature.

"She made sure she finished the show before going to hospital, she is just like that, a complete professional.

"We are all delighted about the pregnancy, this one will take me up to five grandchildren and one great-grandchild."

Sam, who has just been on tour with Beyonce, was in her local Asda in Leicester with her husband Craig when she asked him to get a pregnancy test.

Jackie explains: "Sam had started to feel a little bit strange and she knew something was up.

"Craig went off to get the pregnancy test it came out positive. She wanted to wait until she was past the safe period until she announced it publicly.

"While on the tour the people working closely with Sam have known and have been helping her.

"She wanted to tell everyone on the show so they didn't think she was being a diva and so the public didn't think she was just putting weight on again.

"I think she will do really well because she already has two children.

"We are all just really looking forward to it as a family now."

The former prison officer, who went to Cleeve Park School, who won the last series of the ITV talent show, said her forthcoming tour has had to be rescheduled after discovering the news.

Sam tweeted a scan picture of her new baby telling her fans: "Hey everyone...meet peanut".

She added: "I was really upset because I thought I'd let everyone at my management and the record label down.

"But they were really good about it.

"I was going to go on tour solo at the end of October - but I have managed to move it until January."

Bailey, whose album is due out later this month, already has two children - Brook and Tommy, five.

She said she has been supported by X Factor mentor Sharon Osbourne, but had not yet broken the news to new dad Simon Cowell.

Sam added: "I hope I'll see him soon - I can teach him how to change a nappy."

Happy for the girl. This just speeds up the process of everyone forgetting who she is and saves the heartache of disappearing without a trace like all the other X Factor winners. (Leona and at a push Alexandra Burke aside) until she gets wheeled out for the final next year.

A fine time to get pregnant! Still, life the trouper she is! She will no doubt carry on. Makes me laugh, it's only a pregnancy mum, must of us have had them at more awkward times but have still carried on with far more strenuous work than just singing to the masses. Any way, congratulations to mum to be.
