Kent Police is appealing for witnesses to a reported robbery of a mobile phone in Swanscombe.

Between 2pm and 2.15pm on Monday 3 March, a 15-year-old boy was walking along Milton Street in the direction of Manor Road when his phone started ringing.

As he took it out of his pocket, he was approached by an older boy who attempted to grab the phone from his hand.

The pair struggled for a short while before the victim let go of the phone, fearing he might be assaulted.

The suspect then ran off in the direction of Swanscombe Heritage Park.

The phone was later retrieved and returned to the victim.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable James Greenidge of Kent Police, said: "The victim was walking along the road, minding his own business, when he was approached by a boy believed to be about 18-years-old.

"After trying to keep hold of his phone, the victim feared being assaulted and let go and was understandably shaken up by the incident.

‘I would urge anyone who might have witnessed the incident, which happened in the middle of the day, to contact me as soon as possible.’

The suspect has been described as white, about 18 years old, 5ft 10ins tall and was wearing a black hooded top, navy blue tracksuit bottoms and white Nike trainers.
