An Abbey Wood hospice is calling for brave volunteers to help smash a world record for tandem skydiving.

The Guinness World Record currently stands at 187 skydives in 24 hours and Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice is taking part in a fundraising attempt to break it.

The jump will take place on June 14 and organiser Skyline Parachuting has already got 100 people signed up but needs more for the challenge.

Anne Seakins, 55, who suffers from multiple sclerosis and attends the hospice’s day care centre, said :"I’m doing the jump because I really want to give something back to the Hospice as they have supported me and given me so much over the last 15 years.

"I wanted to help by doing something totally different."

She added: "Multiple sclerosis is a condition that I live with and with the support of the Hospice I live my life to the full."
