Is this the worst picnic ever? The sun coming out spurred this group into having a sit down meal - in a Greenwich car park.

Twitter user @carparkwatch spied the ten al fresco eaters sitting in a space at the Clocktower car park - perhaps confusing it for nearby Greenwich Park.

The group later used a traffic cone to stop drivers crashing their meal.

"We can confirm that they have bought a parking ticket. #greenwichpark?"

So they paid for a parking ticket to sit there, they shouldnt be allowed , 1) its dangerous , 2) people need to park there.

WR9 I completely agree. I would only worry that their food may taste a little funny when someone starts a car behind them, but I don't see a problem with this as a concept. Rather resourceful I think.

However, I don't think this is the 'worst picnic ever'. What would be is if one was sitting in the park with friends on a sunny day and Boris Johnson decided to come and join you - that would not only be the Worst Picnic Ever, but also the Picnic From Hell too.

What selfish idotic people they are. Parking spaces are few and far between. What if a tall van or truck or something was in front of them, nd didn't see them, and moved forward I dreadto think what would have happened. Irresponsible and bad judgement. Out of order.

Theyve paid for a ticket so although it wouldnt be my choice for having a picnic I cant see anything wrong with it. They seem to have found the only bit of sun in the whole car park as well lol! Good luck to em.

This was a project assigned to Design students at Goldsmiths, which is why they're sitting there. Their assignment was to investigate and explore the use of space in an unconventional way. They didn't just randomly sit down there for a laugh. Maybe actually do some research before you go rambling about how "idiotic" they're being.

I am also a Design Student at Goldsmiths, but I'm originally from Wallasey. I can confirm that they did buy a ticket, and that this was their site for our latest design brief. If you want to learn more about the project check our @park_yourself for more information as to why they were there.

Maybe research would in fact yield more interesting results than the 'worst picnic ever'. Also is there nothing better going on back home since I've been gone?
