A class of Welling schoolchildren have gone wild about endangered rhinos.

The seven and eight-year-olds from Hook Lane Primary School in Faraday Road, Welling, organised a shop for February 28 to raise awareness about poaching.

The class had been working on a project, Make a Difference, which explores how the species’ survival is being threatened and what can be done to protect them.

They ran the shop in their classroom selling home-made animal-themed biscuits and engangered animal bookmarks which they had made themselves.

Their teacher Claire Allen told the News Shopper: “Altogether the class made a profit of £125.

“They will be using the money raised to adopt a rhino to help protect them as an endangered species.”
