UPDATE: Bromley gun alert as 71-year-old murdered near Sundridge Park
A murder investigation is underway after the death of a 71-year-old man in Bromley.
Police were called yesterday (March 2) at around 10.40am to reports of a firearm and weapons at an address on Cambridge Road near Sundridge Park.
Armed officers attended and discovered the body of a deceased 71-year-old man.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by the London Ambulance Service.
There are no details yet of the man's injuries but police say no gun has been recovered and there is nothing to suggest that firearms have been used.
A 30-year-old man was arrested near the scene on suspicion of murder.
He was taken into custody at a south London police station, before being moved to a south London hospital for treatment to hand injuries.
He has since been discharged and is now back in custody at a south London police station.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating and an incident room has been opened under Detective Chief Inspector Graeme Gwyn.
A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We were called at 10.45am to an address in Cambridge Road.
"We sent a single responder in a car, an ambulance crew, a hazardous area response team and a duty officer.
"Sadly one person was dead at the scene."
