PLANS are now in to convert an old Eltham store into a six-screen cinema complex.

Under the plans, the old Poundland high street shop - now owned by Greenwich Council - will be demolished.

In its place will be a part-three and four storey mixed use development with two ground floor restaurants and an area for use as a cafe or by the community.

The foyer will be at the rear of the building at ground floor level with three cinema screens provided in both the basement and on the first floor level.

It is estimated the completed cinema, which will have its main entrance on the high street, would have more than 900 seats.

There will be no off-street parking but it will incorporate an area to store bikes.

A decision on the application, available to view online, will be made by a council planning board at a date to be set.
