BROMLEY residents are being asked to air their views on how they want the council to improve their borough.

Bromley Council’s Local Plan, required by the government, aims to set out a “long-term vision” for the coming years with town centres and business areas in mind.

The authority says consultation is now underway for the next stage of development for a planning strategy - setting out what’s next until 2030.

Councillor Peter Dean, chairman of the development control committee, said: “We are urging residents and others to give us their views so they can help us to determine the future of our borough.

“This is a very exciting time in which local people can help to shape Bromley’s future.”

The council says this stage of the process will bring about detailed policies to earmark priorities and work out how to face challenges.

The action plan was announced this week and mentioned focusing on retaining “Bromley’s distinctive local character” is a must, while housing provision and protecting historic assets are also underlined.
