A BRANCH of the National Health Action Party (NHA) has been set up for Bromley, Bexley and Greenwich in response to growing concern for the National Health Service.

The group was announced last week and looks to give local people “trying to defend the NHS a louder voice”.

Bob Gill, a GP in Sidcup and NHA campaigner, believes the situation is critical and said members hope to inform people in the area of what’s really going on.

He said: “I have seen the effect of cuts to local services with reduced access to medical care, fewer hospital beds and lower quality of service.

“The NHS is being dismantled and privatised before our eyes with the support of the three main political parties.”

Earlier this year it was announced Dr Louise Irvine, who played a key role in the fight to save Lewisham’s hospital, is to stand as a candidate in May’s European Parliament elections.
