NHS staff were taken to hospital last night after an ambulance crashed into a car at Masons Hill in Bromley.
A London Ambulance Service vehicle is reported to have been on its way to an elderly patient when it collided with a Vauxhall Astra just before 7.30pm.
Emergency services have said the driver, 48, and a 40-year-old paramedic were taken to the Princess Royal University Hospital suffering back pain. The driver of the car, 41, declined treatment.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We can confirm that an ambulance crew, while on its way to a patient, was involved in a road traffic collision. They were shaken up.
“We sent another ambulance crew and a single responder in a car to the original patient, reported to be a woman in her 80s, who had taken unwell. She was treated and taken to Princess Royal Hospital.”
At 7.43pm Transport for London tweeted an image of two fire engines and two ambulances at the scene, with the A21 Kentish Way road closed northbound for a time. No arrests were made, according to police.
