THE JAILED teacher who worked at a school in Petts Wood before abducting a teenage girl has been moved to a tougher prison.

Jeremy Forrest, who worked at Bishop Justus School on Bromley Common before teaching in Sussex, is currently serving a five-and-a-half-year sentence for taking a schoolgirl to France.

The 31-year-old was arrested last year and has now been sent to Dartmoor Prison after a dispute over love letters that were sent by the girl to the 31-year-old, according to The Sun newspaper.

It’s alleged that Forrest was denied access to the notes in which his former lover says she wants to be with him after he’s released.

The Sun reported a ‘source’ said the messages are “warm, caring and supportive”, adding: “The girl has written three letters to him, which have been taken.

“She wants to be in contact with him. They are about wanting to be with him. She wants to continue a relationship with him.”

Forrest is said to have questioned being unable to read the letters – but the prison service is “determined” to make sure the two aren’t in touch.

It’s been said the disgraced ex-maths teacher had contacted the information commissioner to question the decision, who said he should be allowed to see the letters in response.

However, following the row Forrest was moved to the infamous West County institution from Ashfield in Bristol.

Forrest and the then 15-year-old schoolgirl had fled to France together last year, prompting a wide-scale search for the missing pair. He was arrested in Bordeaux in September and was found guilty of sexual offences and abduction.
