A CYCLING centre in Gravesend is appealing for volunteers to help make the sport more accessible to disabled people.

Cyclopark launched the programme to expand the Wheels For All activity.

This scheme means disabled people can try out a variety of the park’s adaptive bikes and a team of trained volunteers find the right bike for the rider - allowing them to experience the freedom of cycling.

Last year the programme helped over 200 people to cycle.

Cyclist Mambir Sihota, who has benefited from the Cyclo4All programme, said: "I like being able to cycle outside, it makes me feel great.

"I never thought I could do it - I can’t believe how far I can now ride, it’s amazing."

Volunteer Maurine Waters said: "I have been volunteering for two years, from when the programme first started.

"It’s great to see the freedom that it gives to the riders and seeing them achieve something they really enjoy.  Cyclo4All is a great community activity, which makes a real difference."
