A BELVEDERE charity is taking special steps to ensure Thamesmead residents keep to their New Year’s resolutions.

Trust Thamesmead  is launching New Year, New You event tomorrow (Jan 25), encouraging people to sign up to a pledge which could involve anything from getting fit and eating healthily to saving money or volunteering.

The organisation will help residents choose a time-frame for the aims and keep in touch to help them succeed.

There will also be a host of representatives on hand to help including jobs provider Building Futures, Sporting Club Thamesmead, money charity Fair Finance and Greenwich Community College.

Trust Thamesmead’s community development officer Lisa-Ann Newton, who is leading the event, said: "The event will help local people to find out more about services in their area and to sign up to make a change that will improve their circumstances."

Visit the event at The Link Thamesmead in Belvedere Road between noon and 4pm on Saturday or visit thelinkthamesmead.co.uk
