A PENSIONER has died following a three-vehicle crash in Catford.

Emergency services were called at 7.10am on January 10 to the accident on Brownhill Road near St Fillans Road.

The driver of a silver VW Polo,  Alfred George Briscoe, 81, from Greenford, was taken to hospital but died nearly two weeks later on January 23.

Police say the Polo was travelling along Brownhill Road and turning right into St Fillans Road when a 26-tonne flat bed lorry collided with its rear.

This collision knocked the VW Polo into the path of a Mercedes Viano van that then also collided with it.

The drivers of the lorry and the van both stopped at the scene.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
