UPDATE: West Wickham accident leaves woman, 81, in critical condition

AN 81-YEAR-OLD woman is in a critical condition after being hit by a car in West Wickham yesterday (January 23).

Police were called out to the scene near the station at he junction between Red Lodge Road and Hawes Lane at 3.30pm.

Police say the woman received head injuries and has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The car involved - a Kia Sportage - stopped at the scene, which was cordoned off for much of yesterday. There have been no arrests.

Collision investigators from the Traffic Garage at Catford are leading the inquiry and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them.
