A SYDENHAM boozer which was closed after two disturbances has reopened with strict new licensing conditions.

The Pavilion in Kirkdale had its licence temporarily suspended after police investigated two incidents there last month.

Police visited on December 21 to investigate an attack from the day before which had left a 59-year-old man with facial injuries.

But, when they arrived, they were told that a serious disturbance had taken place whilst they were on route.

As a result, a 54-year-old man was arrested for perverting the course of justice and has been bailed to a date in January pending further enquiries.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on December 28 on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and has been bailed to a date in February pending further enquiries.

Following a licensing review, the previous designated premises supervisor had their name removed from the licence.

The pub must also install a comprehensive CCTV system, operate random searches, have a written policy on drugs and provide a comprehensive logbook of incidents which take place inside.
