YOUNG artists got a brush with fame at a series of awards handed out at Sydenham School.
Winners at the Young London Artist Awards were picked from a list of 82 teenage painters, sculptors and photographers from Sydenham and Forest Hill combined sixth form.
Overall winner Lottie Kilraine, 17, bagged £100 for her documentary about two dancers from Trinity Laban Centre in Deptford.
She said: "This was my first attempt at a documentary.
"I am hoping to have a career in film-making and this was an experiment.
"I wanted to show how much goes into their performances which might otherwise appear quite effortless and ephemeral - when in fact the opposite is true."
George Booth-Cole, 17, was runner-up for his skateboard documentary, including footage of the Barbican Centre.
Emily Fidell, 18, received the people's choice award while 17-year-old Leon Wood's lopped film has been selected for a possible screening at Forest Hill gallery Doopo Doopo.
