A CRAYFORD man died in a hostel as a result of an accidental head injury, an inquest heard.

Joseph Ortega, 34, was discovered dead in Chapel Hill Hostel in Chapel Hill on September 20 last year.

Met Police officers and paramedics from London Ambulance Service (LAS) were called to the hostel at around 3.15pm but were unable to save Mr Ortega.

Coroner Dr Roy Palmer recorded a verdict of accidental death as the result of traumatic head injury at the inquest which was held at South London Coroner’s Court on January 16.

Dean Noden, who previously lived with Mr Ortega at the hostel, gave a tribute following his death.
He told News Shopper: "He kept himself to himself and had a good circle of friends.

"He used to work at First Step Trust in Crayford doing voluntary work."
