AN ELTHAM fight between the occupants of two vehicles last night (January 17) left one man with a head injury and sparked unfounded rumours of a stabbing.

Police were called at around 8.35pm to reports of a fight involving the occupants of two vehicles in Eltham Hill, near the junction with Well Hall Road.

One male driver suffered a head injury and was taken to a southeast London hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.

The other vehicle, believed to contain two people, drove away from the scene.

Enquiries continue to trace this vehicle.

The incident led to a short road closure and untrue rumours quickly spread online that a girl had been stabbed behind the parish church.

Officers from Greenwich CID investigate and ask anyone with information to contact them on 0208 284 9425. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
