A FOREST HILL sex assault on a woman while she waited at a bus stop has sparked a police appeal for information.
The attack happened at 7.30pm on December 14 after the 25-year-old woman had got off a P4 bus in London Road and waited outside the Horniman Museum to wait for the 185 to the Catford Tavern.
As she waited, she was joined by a man who tried to engage her in conversation.
When she did not respond, he sexually touched her, grabbing her chest and pinning her arms by the side trying to force himself on her.
Her attacker even followed her on to the bus, still trying to speak to her.
He is described as having a north African appearance, in his early 20s, 5ft 8in tall, with short black hair. He was wearing dark clothing.
Detective Constable Richard Illingworth from Lewisham CID said: "The victim was extremely shaken by this incident and the suspect was not in anyway known to the victim.
"We are keen to catch this individual before he seizes another opportunity to do this to someone else ."
Anyone with information should call police on 0208 284 8313 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
