AN ERITH man has been jailed for more than eight years after trying to flee from police in just his pants and a rucksack full of drugs.
Torrian O'Brien, aged 23, pleaded guilty to five offences at Inner London Crown Court on January 8 after police discovered a handgun in his house in Portland Road, Lime Row, and cocaine in his cooker.
Bexley police officers had carried out a search under a drugs warrant on August 14.
They arrested him as he was trying to escape via his garden wearing underpants and carrying a large rucksack which contained 106 wraps of MDMA, 27 wraps of cocaine and 250 grams of cannabis, along with scales and self-seal bags.
The property was searched and inside officers found a loaded semi-automatic handgun and 23 bullets. A further 26 grams of 92 per cent pure cocaine was found in his cooker.
O’Brien was sentenced to eight years and four weeks in prison for possessing a prohibited handgun, possessing ammunition without a certificate, possessing drugs with intent to supply and failing to comply with the community requirements of a suspended sentence order imposed last year for drugs offences.
