LEWISHAM will mark Holocaust Memorial Day with a service and young people's theatre production.

The day is held annually on 27 January to remember the millions of people killed in the Holocaust under Nazi persecution and subsequent genocides in places like Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

This year’s theme is the journeys people took and their experiences of suffering and terror, and also those journeys that brought survivors to the UK.

A multi-faith service takes place on January 26 at the Catford and Bromley Synagogue from 12.45pm. Free tickets can be obtained by calling 020 8314 8636.

And at 3.15pm that day the Broadway Theatre, Catford, will hold a production of music, dance and drama from students across the borough.

Tickets are priced at 50p and are available from the Broadway Theatre box office on 020 8690 0002 with all proceeds going to the Aegis Trust.
