A MAN was hit by train at Shortlands station yesterday morning (January 12).

Police and ambulance were called to the station at around 7am.

A 32-year-old man, from Bromley, was taken was taken to King's College Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

A London Ambulance spokeswoman said: "We were called at 7.11am to reports of a man under a train at Shortlands station.

"We sent a single responder in a car, an ambulance crew, a hazard area response team and an air ambulance crew in a car.

"Staff treated one patient for various injuries, including head, chest and thigh injuries.

"He was taken to King's College Hospital as a priority."

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "British Transport Police officers were called to Shortlands station after a report of a person hit by a train.

"The incident also attended by Metropolitan Police officers.

"Medics from the London Ambulance Service also attended and treated the man, aged 32 and from Bromley.

"The man's family have been informed, and the incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious."
