FIRE crews tackled a restaurant blaze in Blackheath this afternoon.
The fire is believed to have broken out at The Saffron Club Indian and Nepalese restaurant in Tranquil Vale.
Twitter user Gerry Frizzelle wrote: "Saffron Club indian restaurant in Blackheath is ablaze - fire crews in attendance, breaking down the door. No-one inside, one hopes."
A spokesman for the London Fire Brigade said they were called to a three-storey building with a restaurant and flats above at 3.22pm today.
Four engines went to the scene and around 20 firefighters extinguished the blaze, which started in the basement.
No one was injured.
