FRUSTRATED drivers have reportedly been moving the closure signs from the flooded Bob Dunn Way in Dartford.

The A206 eastbound road has been shut between Marsh Street and M25 Junction 1A (Swanscombe) over the last few days and it is unknown when it will open again.

An alert on News Shopper’s travel feed said: “Some callers say the road is passable, but Kent Highways report the road is still officially closed for safety despite drivers who move the closure signs.”

Twitter user Aryldi Moss-Burke said: “I can't believe they haven't fixed that road yet. Always flooding.

“So glad I don't have to drive it anymore.”

A Kent County Council spokesman said they are investigating the reports of the closure signs being moved.

He said: “Due to the extreme weather we have been experiencing over the recent weeks, the water table has risen to such an extent it has flooded the east bound carriageway of Bob Dunn Way to Junction 1A of the A282 Dartford from below.

“The ground water has risen through the highway drainage system and has flooded both lanes of the eastbound carriageway.

“We are regularly monitoring the levels of the water at this site, and will reopen lane two when it is safe to do so, followed by both lanes when the flooding has completely subsided.”
