A MAN and a woman were rescued from their car after a two vehicle crash on the A2 coastbound this morning (Jan 7).
Fire crews used cutting equipment to free the pair after the collision at around 10.20am between Dartford and Bean.
A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "Crews have used hydraulic cutting equipment to release a man and woman from their car following a two vehicle collision on the A2.
"Once free the casualties were handed over to the care of paramedics."
South East Coast Ambulance sent three ambulances and a car to treat a total of three patients, who were all fully conscious.
A man in his 60s, suffering from chest pains. A woman in her 50s was suffering from elbow and shoulder injuries. They were both taken to Medway Maritime Hospital as a priority.
A third patient was taken to Darent Valley Hospital.
Two lanes of the A2 were closed with queuing traffic for more than two hours, but the A2 is now fully open with no further delays in the area.
