BEXLEY residents can recycle more materials than ever before.

Household plastic packaging and cartons will be recycled if placed in the maroon recycling box or silver recycling bins for flats.

These materials are in addition to the plastic bottles, cans and clean foil that can already be recycled using these containers.

Bexley Council's cabinet member for environment and public realm, Councillor Gareth Bacon, said: "I am delighted that even more recycling services are being rolled out to Bexley residents in their homes.

"We were recently named the top recycling borough in London for the 12th time in 13 years, thanks to the efforts of our residents.

“I am sure that by now being able to recycle many more plastics and cartons, our residents will ensure we continue to lead the way.”
