CATFORD'S Greyhound stadium site has lain empty for years but a planning committee will finally discuss revised plans for a housing development there.
Planning permission for a 589-home scheme with commercial space and a new pedestrian footbridge near Holbeach Primary was originally granted back in 2009, but the economic downturn meant the new buildings were never built.
The site, now owned by the Greater London Authority, will instead be developed by Barratt London, who have been in extensive pre-application discussions with Lewisham Council for six months.
And on January 8, Lewisham Council's strategic planning committee will decide whether to give the revised application the green light.
The new plans have seen a number of small amendments to the original scheme, including see a drop of 30 habitable rooms - eight of which are classed as affordable, leading to a slight reduction in the amount of social housing.
