A SUSPECTED burglary at a Sidcup nightclub led police to a drugs factory with more than 200 cannabis plants and three people have since appeared in court.

Police were called to reports of a break in at Plastic Red in Station Road on December 20 at 10.50am.

They arrested a man at the scene and following further investigations they discovered a huge cannabis factory in Pratts Bottom as well as a prohibited firearm and ammunition.

A spokesman for Bexley Police said the cannabis had an approximate street value of £800,000.

Three people have now been charged and appeared in court.

Michael Ross, aged 64, of Norstead Lane, Pratts Bottom, has been charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis, production of cannabis, possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of ammunition and abstracting electricity.

Estate agent Christine Ross, aged 59, of Norstead Lane, has also been charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis, production of cannabis, possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of ammunition and abstracting electricity.

Chef Anthony Parsons, aged 42, of Iron Mill Lane, Dartford has been charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis and production of cannabis.

All three were remanded in custody and appeared at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on December 23.

They have since been granted conditional bail and will appear at Inner London Crown Court on January 13.
