FOUR people have been jailed for trafficking a Slovak woman to Gravesend and coercing her into a sham marriage.

Tibor Suchy, 28, Viktoria Sanova, 27, Rene Sana, 30 and Muhammed Badar Ul Islam, 32, were sentenced more than 22 years in prison between them at Woolwich Crown Court yesterday (Dec 19).

The court heard last week (Dec 13) that the 26-year-old victim had been approached while homeless in Slovakia by two men and brought to England.

She was kept at an address in Abbey Road in Gravesend by married couple Suchy and Sanova before being sold to Badar Ul Islam for £4,500 who raped her repeatedly.

Suchy, of Abbey Road, was jailed for 10 years for conspiracy to breach UK immigration laws and conspiracy to traffic to and within the UK for exploitation. He was cleared of attempted rape.

Sanova, also of Abbey Road, was found guilty of conspiracy to breach UK immigration laws and sentenced to 16 months in prison.

Badar Ul Islam, of Walthamstow, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to breach UK Immigration laws on October 21. He was found guilty of rape and trafficking within the UK and sentenced to eight years and six months in prison.

Sana, of Gravesend, was cleared of rape but guilty of conspiracy to breach UK Immigration laws. He was sentenced to three years in prison.
