A DRUNK man who admitted punching a paramedic in the stomach at his Erith home has been electronically tagged for a month.

Peter White, 51, of Frobisher Road, was charged with assaulting Mark Herbert on November 28.

He pleaded guilty to the charge and was told by magistrate Christine Groothedes he would be subject to a community order and must stay at home between 8pm and 8am each day.

The court heard Mr White was suffering from a head injury and that when the paramedic arrived, he was punched in the stomach while treating him.

Rachel Marney, prosecuting, told Bexley Magistrates' Court Mr White had been an alcoholic since he was 12 and that he couldn't recall the incident.

Mr White told the court: "I was well drunk, I did not realise till later that I had been knocked out, I do not remember what happened."

He was also fined £110 of which £60 was a victim surcharge.
