A LONGFIELD school has been rated 'outstanding’ by Ofsted for the first time in its history.
Our Lady of Hartley Catholic Primary School was inspected last month and staff discovered the result on December 6.
The school in Stack Lane, Hartley, was rated ‘good’ in the previous Ofsted report.
Inspectors were full of praise for the facility.
They said: "The drive, enthusiasm and vision of the headteacher have transformed the school from a good, high-achieving school into an outstanding one.
"As a result, staff, pupils and parents and carers are rightly proud of the school and fully committed to its motto of ‘Together in faith, love and learning'."
Headteacher Patrina Begley said: "We are delighted about the report and very proud of all the pupils, staff and governors."
