THE cause of a blaze which burned an Orpington Subway sandwich shop to a crisp is under investigation.

Firefighters were called to the premises near The Walnuts shopping centre just before midnight on Sunday (December 8) and it took them around 30 minutes to put out the fire.

Around three quarters of the ground floor unit was damaged by the flames.
