Ex-Mottingham and Chislehurst PCSO who colluded with criminals ordered to repay just £1,200

News Shopper: Oguz Batmaz. Oguz Batmaz.

A JAILED ex-Bromley police community support officer (PSCO) who tipped off criminals on the location of cannabis factories and helped them evade detection has been ordered to repay just £1,255.

Oguz Batmaz, 27, of Acacia Way, Sidcup, committed the offences while working for the Mottingham and Chislehurst North Safer Neighbourhood team and was jailed for seven years in May.

Sitting at Southwark Crown Court, Judge Andrew Goymer ruled the offences earned him a total of £7,268, but he had realisable assets of just £1,255.

He must pay the sum within 45 days or he will face a further 28 days in prison.

Batmaz accessed data on police computers hundreds of times, telling accomplices where cannabis was being grown so they could steal it, while passing on any information the police had on them.

He also supplied cocaine, and spent time with Wayne Farrell, a convicted drug dealer who failed to return from prison leave four years ago, keeping him informed of what the police knew about him.

Batmaz admitted charges of conspiracy to conduct misconduct in public office, conspiring to steal cannabis, supply cannabis and cocaine and wilfully neglecting to perform his duties.
