FOREST Hill fried chicken shop robbers legged it from a takeaway worker who fought back.

Police are still hunting two members of the trio, who entered Favourite Fried Chicken, London Road, on October 27, at around 6.20pm.

One man, Ashley Rose-Green, climbed over the counter and hit a member of staff repeatedly in his face demanding he remove the cash till.

Another man shouted encouragement, while the third person stood outside the shop to stop customers getting in.

When the employee was unable to remove the till, Rose-Green tried to rip out himself, but was stopped from doing so and ran from the shop.

Rose-Green, aged 38, from Nunhead was sentenced to three years and four months imprisonment at Woolwich Crown Court last month after pleading guilty to robbery.

The two other men remain outstanding.

Detective Constable Mary Mountford from Lewisham police's serious acquisitive crime unit said: "Rose-Green briskly entered the shop that night and demanded the till, believing it was his right to take it.

"The member of staff working that night fought back and made sure he left empty-handed.

"I am glad that Rose-Green has received a custodial sentence for what was a vile attack. Our enquiries still continue to trace the other two suspects involved."
