THE best friend of a man who fell from the QE2 Bridge has revealed how the community has been "thrown into turmoil" by the guitar-player’s death.

Robert "Furi" Furman, 34, died after falling from the bridge in the early hours of November 20.

Police found a body on the shoreline and the married father-of-two was pronounced dead at the scene.

Justin Lloyd, from Essex, was in a band, Lynchpyn, with the Polish-born guitarist for the last three years.

He told News Shopper: "We knew something was up when he sent us all a message at three o' clock in the morning which just said ‘sorry’ and then at seven o' clock in the morning my bass player phoned to tell me.

"It was unbelievable and it took some time to sink in.

"It’s difficult to find words. I’m a lyricist and it’s the first time I’m struggling to find words for something.

"He was a family man and my very best friend. You could go to him when you needed anything.

"I am still in shock.  Whatever made him do that, we never knew about. He was so clever to hide it so well.

"It threw us all into turmoil."

Lynchpyn is to carry on in Mr Furman's memory and is hoping to support his wife and two sons during this difficult time.

Mr Lloyd said: "We’ve organised a charity event in his memory to raise money for his family. We want to help out with his family as much as possible.

"His wife is putting on a brave face for her sons because they’re only young.

"He was the driving force behind our band. We’ve not only lost a band member but also a friend."

Lynchpyn is holding a charity gig, Furi Fovever, in Islington on December 8.
