A BIKER hit by a car in Welling this morning remains in hospital after suffering serious head injuries.
Police, ambulance crews and an air ambulance arrived at the scene in Upper Wickham Lane after the incident occurred at around 9am.
Staff treated the motorcyclist, thought to be 20 years old, at the scene and he was taken by helicopter to the Royal London Hospital in east London with what were thought to be life-threatening injuries.
The road was closed in both directions between Balliol Road and Somerhill Road from 9.45am onwards but has since reopened, though diversions are still affecting bus routes 96 and B15.
